He seems to have forgotten his bright anecdotal images, full of humor and derision, which formed the foundation of his early photography in the Slovak Republic after the fall of communism. What he has retained is the same sharp eye, the same rapid execution, the same precise framing and the same drive to explore, challenge, doubt and identify imbalances in situations. An analyst with a sometimes disillusioned smile able to perceive a world whose absurdity becomes disquieting, he for the first time proposes compositions that question our perception of space and situations. With unmitigated delight he applies his talent as a colorist to oblige us to reflect on the illusions – and dangers – of perception, yet always without becoming dramatic.
