GRANDS MAGASINS DE LA SAMARITAINE MAISON ERNEST COGNACQ

The heritage company created by Ernest Cognacq in 1870 still lives on today.

La Samaritaine became part of the LVMH group in 2001 when LVMH became a majority shareholder and then bought it out in 2010.

La Samaritaine became a subsidiary of the LVMH group, together with other luxury brands including Louis Vuitton Malletier, Christian Dior and Le Bon Marché, among others.

In 2007, a small project management team was set up to manage the new Samaritaine project, tasked with drawing up the schedule, selecting the architects, launching the calls for tenders and monitoring the work until its completion in 2020.

Part of this team now functions as a property management company, responsible for the day-to-day operation of Samaritaine’s four buildings, including overseeing their upkeep, maintenance and tenant relations.
