“The light wells of la samaritaine”
The light shining through La Samaritaine’s glass slabs is at the heart of her reconstruction. The fragmentation of the slabs becomes a metaphor for the photographic fragmentation of the world, and the artist has created colour photograms, from scraps to slivers of glass, matter, structure, assembled on a photosensitive sheet like fragments of time.
