à propos

Following his initial exploration of the building, the artist imagined the places, axes and spaces to create a new perspective with his work. With his usual habit of creating preliminary exploratory compositions, this inventor of visual illusions forges new perceptions that question our way of seeing and representation.

After making watercolour sketches, he chooses a subject - here the star, to be used later in other places and colour sequences – and constructs his images in such a way that when we look at the star head-on, it seems to be mysteriously floating in space. Similarly the glass roof, also chosen for its graphic appearance, completely changes under our gaze, and the abandoned location takes on a new lease of life
