Ma Samaritaine 2017
Daido Moriyama is one of the biggest names in contemporary Japanese photography, recognisable by his direct, lively approach, energy and his rapid capacity to format the world and its associated chaos. His unique approach to the city and his ability to combine his images, rework them, constantly revisit his style and take risks, have influenced generations of photographers, in Japan and also in Europe. Using contrasting images and playing on tensions between the exterior and interior, he visually enfolds La Samaritaine, forging one of the complex depictions that only he can devise. With his dark poetic approach, he has thus re-created the building in the heart of Paris.
